All Things Worn gives the opportunity to meet people from the whole globe. What an amazing thing! Each of us brings new experiences, which depend on many aspects. Also the fact, where we are based and what environment we are raised in.
This is not new for all of us, that most people over here come from English speaking countries. Starting with the UK, going through the US and touching Australia on another side of the world. At the beginning that site was dedicated to all of them. Both from sellers and buyers. That’s why the majority is just from there.
But the other countries joined that playful time over here as well. As one of the sellers, who is based in a Non-English speaking country, I am facing additional difficulties every day. And I know many of you feel the same way. More than that, being a faceless seller adds to it even more.
Even though, you CAN still be successful in your own way and have people around you who appreciate your work. Some buyers are searching for SOMETHING DIFFERENT and it can be you. The fact you are somewhere else, doesn’t mean you can’t make it. You can see sellers over here, who are really successful and come from your country. You can be one of them.
First of all, selling physical items is restricted. There might be plenty of reasons, but here are those main ones:
It pushes buyers away and leaves only those, who are somewhere close to us. We can't skip it - unfortunately. No matter how much we want to give a piece of ourselves, share experience and be successful.
Another reason? Payment methods.
Some of them just don't work in all countries. The issue can be also caused by additional fees or some restrictions. However, that problem can be solved. If the seller and buyer put a bit of effort to make it convenient for both sides, it will work. There are buyers who are willing to try, search with you for better options or just simply they can give you time to find out the way to solve the problem.
On the other hand, some buyers just do not want to work with sellers from other countries. And in some cases you will never get an answer WHY? Except the fact that you might not offer what they need, the reasons can be a lot. It can go about preferences or bad experiences they had before. Or it can be something totally different.
This might require more effort and time than you think. ATW is hard work and you should be aware of it. It is not only making orders. That is the whole process of receiving them first.
Remember, hearing NO from the buyer doesn’t mean you are worse than the others. And sellers from Non-English speaking countries will hear it more often.
As the last words, which can apply to EVERYONE… Those who make you feel not enough, avoid and stop interacting with them! It is not healthy for you. Not every buyer is for you, same like you are not for every buyer.
We all are different human beings and joining ATW you must understand that and respect that – as a seller AND as a buyer. So share some kindness while interacting with the others, even when you are rejected or want to say “no, thank you”.
