Reality Of The Sellers From Non-English Speaking Countries

All Things Worn gives the opportunity to meet people from the whole globe. What an amazing thing! Each of us brings new experiences, which depend on many aspects. Also the fact, where we are based and what environment we are raised in.

This is not new for all of us, that most people over here come from English speaking countries. Starting with the UK, going through the US and touching Australia on another side of the world. At the beginning that site was dedicated to all of them. Both from sellers and buyers. That’s why the majority is just from there.

But the other countries joined that playful time over here as well. As one of the sellers, who is based in a Non-English speaking country, I am facing additional difficulties every day. And I know many of you feel the same way. More than that, being a faceless seller adds to it even more.

Even though, you CAN still be successful in your own way and have people around you who appreciate your work. Some buyers are searching for SOMETHING DIFFERENT and it can be you. The fact you are somewhere else, doesn’t mean you can’t make it. You can see sellers over here, who are really successful and come from your country. You can be one of them.

Why we face more difficulties as Sellers?

First of all, selling physical items is restricted. There might be plenty of reasons, but here are those main ones:

  • Shipping costs can be really high.
  • Delivery time can take forever!
  • Many shipping companies do not give you the opportunity to be anonymous for international deliveries.
  • We also face additional law restrictions depending on specific countries.
  • Packages sometimes are being lost!

It pushes buyers away and leaves only those, who are somewhere close to us. We can't skip it - unfortunately. No matter how much we want to give a piece of ourselves, share experience and be successful.

Another reason? Payment methods.

Some of them just don't work in all countries. The issue can be also caused by additional fees or some restrictions. However, that problem can be solved. If the seller and buyer put a bit of effort to make it convenient for both sides, it will work. There are buyers who are willing to try, search with you for better options or just simply they can give you time to find out the way to solve the problem.

On the other hand, some buyers just do not want to work with sellers from other countries. And in some cases you will never get an answer WHY? Except the fact that you might not offer what they need, the reasons can be a lot. It can go about preferences or bad experiences they had before. Or it can be something totally different.

What to do to improve?

This might require more effort and time than you think. ATW is hard work and you should be aware of it. It is not only making orders. That is the whole process of receiving them first.

  • Search for the best shipping methods from your country and make your buyer aware of the situation.
  • Be understanding! You also get annoyed when your delivery is lost.
  • Add a few payment methods.
  • Be prepared for questions.

Remember, hearing NO from the buyer doesn’t mean you are worse than the others. And sellers from Non-English speaking countries will hear it more often.

As the last words, which can apply to EVERYONE… Those who make you feel not enough, avoid and stop interacting with them! It is not healthy for you. Not every buyer is for you, same like you are not for every buyer.

We all are different human beings and joining ATW you must understand that and respect that – as a seller AND as a buyer. So share some kindness while interacting with the others, even when you are rejected or want to say “no, thank you”.

Nick352388 @SilverSurfer that’s the whole point of the blog. Sharing important information and helping others. This site is best when sellers are supporting sellers.

SilverSurfer @Curvy_Amelia isn't the point of blogs to provide insight and start discussions? She shared her own experiences directly relating to the topic, and even shared encouragement to fellow sellers. The only one with bad manners here is you.

Curvy_Amelia @OFC_I_AM_HORNY so she can do on her own wall, right? writing an essay and advertising under another girl post is not ok!

Curvy_Amelia @OFC_I_AM_HORNY she can right a blog about her experience, right? And I will read it ! I just find a bad manners , if someone is trying to take the spot from the original blog and make it "ME ME ME" Does it make sense now?

MissCataleya @Nick352388 oh that for sure. There is so many opportunities, but still a lot things hasn't been solved.

Nick352388 Awesome post. Shipping costs and importing through customs definitely can get difficult sometimes. It’s crazy how you can buy something from the other side of the world and have it delivered to your mailbox and have fun enjoying it

MatureAlexa Very good read 💕

OFC_I_AM_HORNY @Curvy_Amelia I am trying to understand why is admin being tagged here? What is wrong in what @Tolulope wrote? She is giving a wonderful insights here that are deepening the subject started by @MissCataleya.

Curvy_Amelia @HurtTheHead she literally wrote an essay! Under another seller post!

HurtTheHead @Curvy_Amelia aren't you helpful.. she joined 2 days ago 🙄

Curvy_Amelia @Tolulope it's common sense ... @admin

Tolulope @Curvy_Amelia oops didn’t know this was wrong lol calm

Curvy_Amelia @Tolulope ok. Amen @admin

MissCataleya @Tolulope 100% right. Kindness eveb if it doesnt work, make it feel better! 😊

Tolulope As someone selling from Nigeria, this hit home more than I expected. 😭 The biggest reality check for me wasn’t finding buyers… it was shipping. I recently had a buyer interested in buying just one pair of panties. The item itself was around $15, but when I checked the shipping cost, it came to almost $70. 😭😂 We both just looked at each other like… “Well, I guess this is where our love story ends.” We had to walk away from the sale because it simply didn’t make financial sense. That’s one of the invisible struggles international sellers deal with. It’s not a lack of effort or willingness—we’re genuinely trying. Sometimes the logistics are just working against us. Payment methods can be another challenge too. What’s simple in one country can be impossible in another. You end up spending almost as much time researching couriers and payment options as you do creating listings. But despite all that, I really appreciate posts like this because they remind newer sellers that rejection isn’t always personal. Sometimes it’s geography, shipping costs, customs, or payment limitations—not your profile, not your content, and not your worth as a seller. To every international seller reading this: don’t get discouraged. The right buyers do exist, and some are genuinely patient enough to work with you while you figure things out. And to the buyers who take the time to communicate kindly—even when a sale doesn’t happen—thank you. A polite “it won’t work this time” goes a long way and makes this community feel much more welcoming. ❤️

Freya_Knickalicious Hadn’t even considered the barriers you might face from a non-English speaking country, regardless, you’re smashing it! Great read 🫶🏼 xx
