Leopard Print Clarks Ballet Flats, Worn To Comfortable

Clarks. I bought these because I wanted the print and the comfort, and they delivered both for longer than they had any right to. The pony hair across the upper has softened where my feet have moved inside them. The print is still wild. The wear underneath is softer than the outside suggests.
The insole is black, which hides nothing if you know what you are looking at. The faint discolouration across the toe bed is sweat. The compression at the heel is mine. The mark in the left shoe near the arch is from something I stepped in once and never quite cleaned out, which is the kind of detail I will not pretty up for you.
I wore these for everything ordinary. Quick supermarket trips, the school run for a friend I was helping out, the walk to and from the car park on days I was not in scrubs. They have lived a normal woman's normal life, which is what some of you actually want from a pair of shoes you can hold.

Tall Tan Suede Wedge Heels, The Going Out Pair
BODY

These were my going out shoes. Tall, deliberately too tall, the kind of platform you put on knowing you will regret them by the end of the night and you wear them anyway. Tan suede across the front, woven jute texture up the wedge, gold tone insole that catches the light when you slip your foot in.
They were worn for nights I dressed up for. Bars, dinners, the occasional wedding. The scuffing on the wedge is from being kicked off under tables. The wear at the back of the strap is from being unbuckled half buzzed and walked the last few steps home barefoot, swinging them from one hand. The insole has softened to the print of my foot, and the suede has darkened slightly across the toe where sweat builds up faster in heels than it does in flats.
If you have a thing for heels, these are the ones in my collection that have actually been used. Not posed in for photos and put back in the box. Walked in. Danced in. Sweated in. Carried home in one hand at the end of the night.
