Soft, Aged House Boots With Heavy Wear

These black house boots have been with me for over five years, and they’ve got every bit of that history written all over them. The suede is soft and worn down, the toes are scuffed, and the tops are frayed like they’ve been pulled on a thousand times without thinking — because they have.

The lining is matted, fuzzy, flattened, and absolutely shaped to me. Five years of heat, sweat, cozy days, quick slip-ons, and hours of padding around the house have given them a very distinct, deeply settled-in smell. Not subtle. Not shy. The kind of scent that only comes from house shoes that have only ever touched bare skin.
