Following on from @Kinks_and_curves post I wanted to document what submission means to me.

I started exploring my submissive side about 13years ago and in that time I’ve had 2 long term mistresses and my relationship with my current mistress (my 3rd) is still relatively new but looking very promising.

Things that matter to me:
1. Respect: we all have limits; both sides should respect them whilst pushing boundaries if that is desired. Personally I like my boundaries pushed and have had some great experiences because my mistress has pushed me to explore.
2. Trust: like a vanilla relationship trust is everything. I choose to give my submission, it cannot be demanded. But when I trust someone I trust them completely and submit fully.

4. Ownership: for me personally ownership is a big step up from submission. When I consider myself owned I am in the d/s relationship for the long term
5. Openness: be open about what you want from relationship. For me personally, real life meetings, or the possibility of them, are important. So distance is an important factor for me.
