So a man walks into a village hall where the folk have gathered to dance. He leaps gracefully onto a table and says, 'Ladies and gentlemen' - though he is, in truth, addressing himself only to the ladies - 'let me tell you a little about myself', and so he does, and the gathered folk listen enraptured, astonished at what they hear, and then he leaps gracefully from the table, bows, and leaves, only marginally detracting from the moment by missing the last step and falling flat on his face.
