For a long time, I thought confidence was something you earned after you changed your body. Lose weight first. Tone up first. Be smaller, quieter.
I was wrong.
Confidence didn’t arrive when my body changed, it arrived when I stopped apologising for taking up space.
Being a plus size woman has taught me a lot about how people see bodies, especially women’s bodies. Some look away. Some stare. Some project their assumptions onto you without ever asking who you are. And then there are those who see softness, curves, warmth, presence and understand that attraction doesn’t come in one size.
I didn’t wake up one day magically confident. It was built slowly, through learning my body, and realising it carries me through real days, real routines, real moments.
When you’re comfortable in your body, even the smallest details start to feel personal — the way fabric sits, how something holds warmth, how everyday wear becomes part of a story rather than something disposable. I think that’s why authenticity matters. Nothing is rushed. Nothing is performative. What’s shared comes from real life, not an idea of what a body should be.
I don’t hide myself here. I don’t shrink my language or soften my edges to make others more comfortable. What you see is what you get: a woman who knows her body, respects it, and enjoys expressing herself through it.
Confidence for me isn’t about being flawless. It’s about being present. About allowing myself to be seen without explaining or justifying why I deserve that visibility.
If you’re someone who appreciates authenticity, softness paired with strength, and a woman who is at ease in her own skin, then you’ll probably understand my space here.
And if not, that’s okay too. Confidence also means knowing you don’t have to be for everyone.
Be unapologetically you 🩷
