Ever wonder what makes someone a top seller on All Things Worn? I know I have. I took a look at the Top 10 sellers this month (May 2022) to see what they all have in common to help some of the new sellers around here! Take all of these numbers and observations with a grain of salt. They're averages, so there is room for variation from person to person.
So I'm a bit of a nerd, and I wanted to crunch some numbers here to see if I could tell if some of those basic profile factors had to do with their success. However, I am focusing on things that are in your control. So I will not be analyzing assigned sex at birth, gender identity, body size, race, region, etc.
Those factors aren't something you can change, so there is no point in dwelling on them. Keep in mind that 10 is not statistically significant. I chose this number because this data is challenging to collect. However, if many people like this article, I'll collect data on the top 100 sellers. Until then, we're going with the top 10.
The Top 10 sellers have been selling panties for about 6 months on ATW. They have about 148 five-star reviews apiece. As for followers, they have 285 each. The average top seller has 108 listings on their site. They have 577 pictures each. However, there was an outlier with almost 4,000 images. The average goes down to 167 images per top seller when they are excluded. Their profiles have 59,341 visits each. They sell in 14 categories under "what I offer" and they accept 4 payment methods. They also average 7 instant content items each.
Finally, we can determine how often the average seller posts a photo by dividing the average time on the site by the average number of images. This tells us that the top seller will post a little less than 1 photo a day, about 6 a week.
Okay, so maybe we're not all math people. I know I wasn't in school. Next, I'm gonna talk about some themes I notice when I go on their profiles.
For starters, every one of them has a profile photo and a bio that is more than one line, they are premium sellers, and they are all ID-verified. Most of their usernames are either a description of what they sell, their description, or a name they would like to be called. Many of them also have a number in their username. Following are some fictional examples without using any usernames of the top 10 sellers. They are things like WetPanties77, PlusSizedTitties, or CallMeKaren. Their profile pictures are all sexy photos of their bodies, feet, or face.
Their bios all have lots of emojis and break up the blocks of text with spaces and lists. Most of them describe their bodies and personalities, then list what they do and don't do on ATW.When you look at their listings, most of them wear the items they are trying to sell. When the item is not being worn, it is usually laid flat on a clean surface. Their instant content seems to go between $3 - $15 - however, some of their instant videos go up to $30. Their photos tend to be of themselves or promoting their listings - however - there is the occasional meme. Finally, most of them seem to show at least some face; however, not all of them do. Never break your boundaries because you feel like it'll make you more popular.
Through looking at these numbers and themes, there is a lot we can learn about good strategies as a seller in this market.
The numbers aren't quotas, though. Reaching them won't guarantee you, buyers - especially if you rush and make things sloppy. However, using these numbers as guidelines could help you gain some following on ATW. Followers, reviews, and time here will all come eventually. However, maybe set a goal to post a photo every day and get close to 100 listings.
I'd also look at your bio and see if you could add to it or organize it better. If you have the time to take excellent clear photos of your items, I'd recommend doing that. I know these numbers might seem daunting, but I don't know if you noticed that none of these sellers are brand new at the game. They earned their place, and that's worthy of respect. People love them because they work hard and are honest and genuinely themselves. So if there's anything to emulate, it's that.
Welcome! We all love seeing new sellers and new buyers and we want nothing more than for everyone to be successful (selling or finding what you’re looking for). I think...
