To add my 2 cents on the incredible
#sellerssupportingsellers campaign.
I’m a massive therapy advocate and recommend it to everyone regardless regardless of what they are going through and can’t stress enough that if you’ve not had a good experience with therapy in the past, it’s important to shop around to find the therapist and style of therapy that’s right for you.
I think there’s a common misconception that therapy is great because the therapist is trained in how to help you. This is true but equally important is that you are paying the therapist, so the therapist has no alternative incentives. The therapist is disconnected from your life and there’s no danger of them helping you because they want to get something out of you whether it be friendship, social status, sexual favours etc. You also have confidentiality and no fear that you will scare off or disgust them because they’re not there because they like you, they’re there because you are paying them. During that session you can have complete confidence that the therapist for the next 50 minutes is only focused on helping you.
As Stella pointed out in her original post, if a buyer is offering you emotional support, there’s nothing wrong with taking it, but it’s important to keep in mind, if they aren’t being paid, why are they helping you? If they enjoyed helping people there are numerous charities and online spaces designed for that. You should at the very least keep in the back of your mind which website they are choosing to offer emotional support on.
Sellers supporting sellers is great because i’m sure you have many shared experiences being on this site that you can help each other with, but please also consider therapy as there’s nothing like it ❤️
Sorry for yapping but therapy is great and buyers and sellers please all do give it a shot :)
