How to Write the Ultimate Profile Bio

I was recently given some great advice and tips on writing the perfect profile bio. After carefully crafting and updating my profile, the results that followed were fantastic! I thought that I would pass along these wonderful words of wisdom on how to draw attention to your page while providing pertinent information that buyers are looking for while they shop. If buyers aren’t sure or don’t know what to expect from you, they more than likely will move on to another seller’s page. Don’t let that happen to you!

First, do some research. Look at other sellers’ profiles and see how they have structured their bio. Read what they wrote, look through their instant content and their store to get ideas.

Disclaimer; This is strictly for inspiration and knowledge, never copy another person’s profile bio word for word, or do a copy and paste job. Plagiarism is not how you gain a following of loyal buyers. It’s not attractive to have the exact same profile as everyone else anyway. Be organically yourself, it looks gorgeous on you.

Next, gather your thoughts and start to compose your profile bio.

INTRODUCE YOURSELF

Do you want to describe yourself or explain a nickname or your user name? Buyers will read this first, make an impression! This first introductory paragraph will either have buyers keep reading or click to the next profile.

YOUR SPECIALTIES

Let buyers know what they can expect from you and if you have a certain niche’. Tell them everything about what you do and how you do it (without giving too much away of course) while providing specific services you have to offer. Are you a Dom, a sub, or do you have a certain kink you only work with? If you wear clothing items, do you provide proof of wear or progress photos? Are you a gym goer or a hiker? Let the buyers know what they can expect from their items if they choose to order from you. If you are a content creator, do you use Google Drive or Dropbox? Do you email your content out or do you share a Gdrive link?

CUSTOM OFFERS

Do you take special requests for custom wear or creating content? Since all of your store items come with a listed price, it’s best to not duplicate those listings and prices in your bio. Rather, explain your custom pricing and turnaround times. Since custom photos and videos aren’t readily available, buyers who order custom content like to know your time frame for making and sending out any content.

SHIPPING AND HANDLING

Buyers want to know that their worn items are going to be shipped to them with care. Explain your shipping process and which courier you use. Will you provide a tracking number? Do you use boxes, envelopes, bubble mailers, vacuum sealers, or baggies? Do you offer refunds or exchanges?

RULES

Do you have any rules about how you operate? All kinks are different, and everyone has their own way of working. Let people know if you require a certain set of rules to be adhered to if they choose to work with you. Think of your own hard “no’s”. Do you or do you not show your face? Do you require you be addressed a certain way? Also, think about your technical difficulties. Are you limited on content, maybe you can only do pictures and not videos?

WARNINGS

Do you have any warnings to make others aware of? A smoking household, pets, or any other allergy concerns? Do you only go to the post office and ship items once a week? This might save you and the buyer a BIG headache later on, so it’s always better to be safe and address any possible concerns a buyer may have right away.

CONCLUSION

Do you have any final thoughts to add? Let the buyers know once more how happy and excited you are to work and talk to them before you say thank you and/or good bye.

After you have your profile bio written out there are a few more items to check off the list before you’re all done. First, feel free to use slang and emoji’s to bring out your personality, however avoid using too many CAPS, italics, or underlining. Using these tools excessively is unsightly and distracting. You want the buyer to have an easy read when they’re looking at your profile. Second, make sure your paragraphs aren’t too long. Finally, double check your grammar and spelling. Use an online dictionary, thesaurus, as well as grammar and spelling tools.

Congratulations, you now have the ingredients for an eye popping, attention grabbing, easy reading, beneficial and profitable profile bio! Happy selling!
