Seller Stepping Into 50+ as a New Seller on All Things Worn

So… I Guess I’m Not 40-50 Anymore

There’s something oddly confronting about updating a number.

I mean, I’ve made my peace with spinning that little dial on an online form like I’m on a game show just to get to my birth year (if you know, you know).

It’s only a small change on a profile… but it doesn’t always feel like one.

Following my most recent birthday, I realised I probably needed to change my age range. I’m not 40-50 anymore… I’m 50+. And I’m not going to lie - for a second, I hesitated.

Not because I’m ashamed of my age, but because ATW is still a new world for me.

When you step into something unfamiliar (especially later in life) there’s always that little voice in your head saying -
‘What do you think you’re doing here?!’
‘Everyone else is so much younger than you!’
‘I think you’ve missed the boat with this!’

Classic imposter syndrome.

I didn’t come into this for confidence or self-discovery. I came into it for practical reasons - to bring in a bit of extra money, help with the bills, keep the wolves from the door. Nothing deeper than that… or at least, that’s what I told myself at the time.

But if I’m being really honest with you (and myself), changing that age range now does feel like a bit of a risk.

It’s one of those small clicks that suddenly feels quite big. What if it takes me out of people’s searches? What if I drop off someone’s radar? What if I suddenly become “too old” for what someone’s looking for?

It’s very easy to spiral into that kind of thinking and even easier to choose to stay slightly hidden… slightly edited… slightly “safer”… just in case I’m more appealing that way…

But after having a very strong word with myself, I’m saying HELL NO!

The reality is, yes - it might change who sees me. But that doesn’t mean less interest. It just means different interest. I’m confident the people I’ll attract will be more aligned and my interactions more intentional.

And while I’m on a roll… here’s some other things I’ve discovered since dipping my (exceptionally lovely 😉) toes into this world -

I actually look bloody good for 51! (Gotta blow your own trumpet right?!)
Not in a comparison to anyone else way… more in a this is all me, feeling good in my own skin way!

I’m enjoying this new little secret side to my life more than I ever thought I would! Somewhere along the way, it sparked something again. A version of me I hadn’t really tapped into for a while. Not in a dramatic way… just in a quiet, “oh… there she is” kind of way.

Oh and let’s talk about community support!

Support from other sellers, from buyers - people I’ve never met but who’ve been genuinely kind, encouraging and so welcoming. When you step into something new, you half expect to feel like an outsider… but that really hasn’t been my experience and I’m so thankful for every conversation I’ve had.

So if updating that number on my bio filters people out?
They were never my people to begin with.

Anyway… that’s me! That’s where I’m at.

And now? I’m off to change my age range.

Watch this space…

This goddess is 50+… and just getting started…😉💋
