Saving Face - The Pros & Cons of Revealing Your Physical Identity

Hello all! Welcome to my first blog. I’m FlyingNylonPrincess, aka FNP. Although my face remains a mystery to some, I like to think that I’m a pretty open book as far as my personality goes. I really enjoy helping other members and offering advice to those who need a little guidance. We have all seen a lot of new sellers joining our wonderful community lately, so the purpose of this blog is to help anyone currently considering whether or not to “show face”.

Why I Don’t Show Mine

As a lot of you know, I work for an international airline as cabin crew (a ‘flight attendant’ to the American folk). Picture this; you jet off somewhere exotic to stay in a nice hotel with people you have just met. You often have at least 24 hours to explore, relax, drink and party with your new friends. Quite often something ‘interesting’ will result. The UK tabloids have cottoned on to just how ‘interesting’ some of the crew antics can be, and unsurprisingly the subsequent articles are well received by their readers. There are dozens of tabloid stories online linking crew to drunken hotel room parties, layover orgies, and occasionally the more bizarre events, such as the girl who defecated in her wardrobe in St Lucia, and the smuggling of a donkey up to the fourth floor of a hotel in Cyprus (for real!).

Cabin crew selling their worn shoes and tights online is also a hot topic. And of course, any crew involvement with sex work. The crew who are linked to this are suspended, investigated and ultimately fired for ‘bringing the company’s name into disrepute’.

So why don’t I show my face? Although the chances of me being recognised are slim, I would still be risking the job that has become my life. For me, that will always be my primary concern, and I’m sure some of you reading this can relate!

The Faces We Know and Love

So that’s one side of the scale. But how about the full-time sex workers who are loud and proud about their profession, have the support of their family and friends, and quite frankly don’t give a flying duck about what anyone has to say? Well besides being QUEENS, these ladies have weighed up the pros and cons for their individual circumstances. There may be no cons for them at all! Showing face adds a whole new level of intimacy and expression to digital content. Emotions such as desire, pleasure and pain are much easier to convey. Viewers can look into your eyes and be hypnotised and captivated. Plus, who doesn’t love a good cum face?

Both sellers who show face and ‘faceless’ sellers have different things to consider when making their content. Like hair and makeup for starters! I know from conversations with another seller that it can take more time to get ready for a video than it takes to actually film it. At least for me, a buyer will be none the wiser if I’m having a bad skin day or haven’t washed my hair since last weekend! Occasionally though when I’m reviewing my content before sending, I’ll notice my face slip into the frame for a moment and sigh to myself as I open a video cropping app.

What If the Buyer Wants to See Face?

I can totally understand if they do. No one in the ‘real world’ expects to have a sexual encounter with a faceless being (no judgement if that’s your thing though), and quite often it’s the same online. We are lucky on ATW that we have so many wonderful buyers who enjoy those who show their faces and respect those who don’t.

Unfortunately, there will always be those entitled buyers who slip through the net, trying to pressure for face reveals and hassle you to make an exception for them. I have a rule which is written clearly in my bio, “I do not reveal my identity to protect my career. If I have to repeatedly remind you of this you will be blocked.”

And you bet I’ve enforced that rule! This is where you need to be assertive, stick to your guns and respect your own limits. As with most things in life, you shouldn't allow someone to pressure you into doing something you’re not completely comfortable with. The block button can be your friend when the circumstances call for it, and Admin are always available to investigate members that cross a line.

Face or Not, You Need to Stay Safe

One of the most important points I would like to highlight in this blog is the power of the internet. Everyone has access to it, literally in the palm of their hand. And as great as it is to have the facility to lay in bed watching TikTok videos until 3 am, we need to be mindful that something we post online can reach all corners of the globe in a matter of milliseconds. And once it’s out there, there’s no way to get it back.

Sadly, you can’t always guarantee that the people you trust with your intimate content will respect your privacy and not forward it on to someone else. Or even worse, sell it for their own financial gain. You may have noticed that some sellers (myself for one) watermark the photos they add to the dash. You may think it unnecessary, but how would you feel if you discovered someone selling a bunch of your pics or posing as you under a different name on a different site?

Speaking of names; most sex workers will use a fake name, and I would absolutely advise you to do the same. It’s worryingly easy to track someone down on social media when you have their full name and general location. And from there people can discover places you frequently visit, details about your family and friends, pictures of your children etc. I’m not just referring to your username; I personally have used fake names on PayPal, Cashapp and bank transfers. Amazon gift cards can be given to you as a code to save you from giving out your email address. FNP has her own email account so I don’t need to give out my personal one.

Having said all of this, lines do blur sometimes, and if you are lucky enough to find someone that you trust implicitly then at this point you can reassess what you are happy to share. For instance, my top buyer knows my real full name, the area I live in and has seen my face. Over a few months (and many, many orders!) our trust grew to a point where I was happy to share this with him as it became the natural next step in our friendship.

Can I Hide My Face and Still Be Successful?

Success itself is subjective so means different things to different people. Those who join to make money will likely use the figures in their bank account to measure their success. What I can say with certainty – is that if your definition of being successful is being comfortable enough to be your true self, find like-minded new friends and have fun, then being faceless on ATW will have absolutely no negative impact on your success.

When I first joined, I presumed and accepted that hiding my face may hinder the amount of interest I had for orders. When I bit the bullet and became Premium in December, I never dreamt that 7 months later I would have 350 orders under my belt, a loyal following of repeat buyers, and new friends I talk to daily. There are one or two sellers on ATW who know more about the real me than my ‘real life’ friends. For me, the money I make is just one small part of my whole experience as a sex worker. I have never felt so accepted and understood in my life, and to me, that is the ultimate success.

In closing, just remember it is up to you how you choose to share your body. What works for one person may not for someone else, and that’s ok. Regardless of how much you share physically, let your personality shine through and show ‘em you are so much more than a pretty face!

Thanks for reading! <3
