Starting out on a new platform can be exciting, intimidating, and honestly a little overwhelming. When I joined All Things Worn as SecretSeductionXO, I really wasn’t sure what to expect.
Would anyone visit my profile? Would buyers actually message me? Would I make a sale? And most importantly, how do you stand out when you’re the brand-new seller in a community full of established sellers?
Well... I started learning pretty quickly. 😉
One of my biggest surprises was how quickly people started viewing my profile. It taught me that getting someone’s attention and actually turning that attention into a sale are two completely different things.
I’ve learned that simply creating listings isn’t enough. Being active matters. Posting to the feed, adding new photos, refreshing or reposting listings when possible, responding to genuine messages, and letting some of your personality show can all help people notice you.
I’ve also learned an important lesson about trust.
As a new seller, buyers don’t know me yet. I don’t have a long history of reviews behind my name, so I understand why someone might hesitate. Instead of taking that personally, I’m concentrating on building my reputation one positive interaction and one happy buyer at a time.
At the same time, sellers need to feel comfortable too. I’ve already encountered people who immediately want to move conversations away from the platform. My approach is simple: I’m comfortable keeping conversations and transactions here while I get to know someone. Setting boundaries doesn’t mean you aren’t interested in making a sale—it means you’re building your business in a way that feels right for you.
Then came the exciting part: making my first sales! 🎉
There’s something incredibly satisfying about realizing that all the work you’ve put into your profile, photos, listings, and conversations has resulted in someone choosing to purchase from you.
Another thing I’ve discovered is that every buyer is different. Some are interested in physical items, some prefer photos or videos, and others are looking for something personalized. Sometimes a conversation helps you discover exactly what someone is looking for.
That’s also where I’ve learned that being yourself matters.
My personality is playful, flirty, and a little teasing. 😈 I’m not trying to be every seller for every buyer. I’d rather attract people who genuinely enjoy my personality and style.
So if you’re another brand-new seller wondering whether anyone is noticing you, here’s what I’ve learned so far: give it time, stay active, protect your boundaries, experiment with your profile and listings, talk to people, and don’t measure your success only by the number of sales you’ve made.
Most importantly, enjoy figuring out what works for you.
I’m still learning myself—and honestly, that’s part of the fun. I’m excited to see where this adventure takes me next. 💋
