Taking regular breaks from this site is vital, and the only thing that’s kept me sane! When you first join, you get swept up in this whirlwind of emotions, and I know for a lot of people this is more than just a side hustle, it’s a means to provide. You get addicted to earning money in such a fun and creative way, while also getting off? Sounds like a dream…the problem is, this job is incredibly draining:
Talking to multiple people at once is emotionally draining in itself, it's hard for me sometimes to keep up with my messages, and when I have more than 5 or 6, I get easily overwhelmed and want to run away. Pair that with TW’s, people trying to haggle your prices or people trying to get free content….you’re on a one way train to losing your god damn mind
When these feelings start to kick in, you can start to spiral, and feel like what am I doing wrong, and then you start to compare yourself with other sellers, I know for me personally, I see people with loads more reviews that started way after me, and I start to question if I’m good enough for an industry like this.
On top of all this, you’ve also got a whole other life to lead, a family to take care of, another job to be present for, a different version of yourself that you don’t reveal on the site.
When you’re feeling a bit hopeless, endlessly refreshing the dash, wondering where all the decent buyers are, you need to stop. Because nothing is going to flow when you’re in that state. Take a few hours, the evening or even a few days to come back to yourself. Get some fresh air, touch some grass, have a bath, go have a girly night, whatever it is you do to wind down or forget about the world for a minute, go and do that. Get your mindset right, and come back refreshed.
Every time, I’ve come back to sales, because I’m not forcing anything, and it gives me a moment to remember why I love this space and community. You’re doing a lot better than you think, learn to rest, not to quit💚
