Starting something new online can feel exciting and intimidating all the same time, and really quite overwhelming. Especially in this industry when it involves putting a part of yourself out there. A particular part of yourself that the majority of the population hides away in secrecy.
Before joining All Things Worn, I’d always been interested in exploring this side of myself but I held back for a long time. I had always been interested in this industry whilst watching from the sidelines you could say and never quite diving in. Not because I didn’t want to do it, but because the outside world felt overwhelmed at the thought of being noticed, so to speak. I worried about being recognised, judged, or not knowing how to stay safe while still being authentically me in the industry.
What helped me finally take the step was research, patience, and realising that there’s no single “right” way to be a seller here.
And the list goes on… you get the idea. You do what YOU WANT to do.
One of my biggest priorities was learning how to protect my identity. I focused on understanding how to hide my face, manage boundaries, and present myself in a way that felt comfortable — without losing my personality.
All Things Worn offers the flexibility to do exactly that. You don’t need to show everything to be successful. Confidence can come from subtlety, creativity, and simply being yourself in a way that feels secure. Taking the time to learn what works for you — lighting, angles, content style, communication — makes a huge difference. It allows you to explore freely while staying in control.
If you’re new and feeling nervous, that’s completely normal. Don’t be upset or frustrated at yourself for feeling this way, it is a normal human emotion and reaction to starting something new, no matter what it is!
Many people start quietly: observing, learning, and building confidence at their own pace. Watching others, maybe researching online, books, TV shows, speaking to friends or other people in the industry — whichever you find easier, it’s all okay to do. You’re allowed to take your time, set firm boundaries, and decide what you’re comfortable sharing whether that’s now and/or in the future.
This platform is about choice. Your choice. You decide how you show up, what you offer, and how you interact. You decide your hours, your effort, your energy that you want to put in, how you do it, why you do it, and when you do it.
Enjoy it. If you’re not enjoying it or feeling overwhelmed, take a day off, or two! That’s okay too.
What once felt intimidating has become genuinely fun for me. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still relatively new at the time of writing this compared to some people here. However, the more I trusted my feelings and respected my own limits and boundaries, the more confident I felt within myself and you can too. Exploring this space can be empowering when you allow yourself to grow into it gradually. At the end of the day we all joined here for the same reasons, right?
If you’ve been thinking about starting but feel unsure, please know that you don’t need to be fearless. You don’t need to be a robot. You simply just need to be thoughtful of yourself and others, and be kind to yourself.
All Things Worn can be a safe, creative, and enjoyable space when you approach it on your own terms and within your boundaries you set.
The biggest thing to remember is NEVER remove your boundaries just to get a sale. It is okay to say no. Let that buyer know that you’re not the seller for them and they will understand and respect you more for that. We all deserve the correct and right experiences. The same goes for buyers — let the seller know straight away if you’re not comfortable with something.
We are all here to indulge, dive in, and have fun. Life is about living, don’t let other matters stop you from living YOUR life.
Be yourself whilst you protect your boundaries, and don’t be afraid to explore what feels right for you.
