Starting out on All Things Worn can feel a little overwhelming at first. When you’re new, there’s a mix of excitement, curiosity and maybe even a bit of uncertainty about what to expect. I remember wondering how to get my first sale, what to price things at and how to stand out among so many other amazing sellers. If you’re in that same position, you’re definitely not alone and I’m hoping this blog can help you in some way.
One of the first things I realised is that your profile really matters. A clear bio which buyers can understand and a few good photos can make a big difference. I personally have posted a few photos of me in outfits I’m wearing that particular day so buyers can get to know me on a more personal level. I found simple things like being polite, responsive when I can be and consistency can really help you.
Pricing is another thing that can feel tricky at the start. It’s tempting to go really low just to get sales but I’ve found it’s better to find a balance. I personally started at a mid range price to help attract buyers. Once you gain a bit of demand you can always adjust your prices as your demand grows.
Something that helped me a lot was understanding the different types of buyers. Some are just browsing, some are curious and some are serious and ready to purchase. Learning to spot the difference saves both your time and energy. Don’t feel pressured to reply instantly to everyone or entertain messages that don’t respect your boundaries. Your time is valuable.
Speaking of boundaries, setting them early is really important. Decide what you’re comfortable offering and stick to it. Whether it’s the type of items you sell, how you communicate or what services you provide, being clear and consistent helps avoid any awkward situations occurring later on. You’re always in control of what you do and don’t offer.
Consistency is key when you’re trying to grow. Posting regularly, updating your listings and staying active on the platform keeps your profile visible. Even small updates can make a difference and I have found this really helps my sales even if I’m just posting what I’ve had for my tea or what I’m up to that day.
If you’re just starting out, my biggest advice would be, don’t overthink it. I started on here only 3 months ago and it amazes me how much my account has grown already and this is due to all the lovely sellers and buyers on this site. Being a new seller is a learning experience but it can also be fun and rewarding once you find your rhythm. Stick with it, trust yourself and don’t be afraid to grow at your own pace.
