How To Become A Trusted & Reliable Buyer/Seller on ATW

With more buyers and sellers on All Things Worn than ever before, it might be worth putting out a simple dos and don'ts when it comes to conduct and behaviour. We all want to have a fun time and buy/sell used items with ease and comfort. So here is a basic list on some of the do's and don'ts of being a buyer or seller on ATW/MTW

Buyers

  • DO fill in on your profile what you are looking for, interested in, and a little bit about yourself so that other users know a bit more about who you are and what you like. It's also a good little ice-breaker. By saying you are looking for used panties, well-worn shoes, or a sexting experience, you could become connected to someone who has just what you’re looking for. Remember… the more information the better!
  • DO put a profile picture up, as it shows that you are more serious about wanting to be on the website and not just browsing for the day.
  • DON’T demand or request “free samples” or any free content that a seller hasn’t already put up onto their store or page already. It comes across as rude, and that you are not a serious buyer.
  • DON’T haggle a seller on their prices. The sellers put their prices for their products, time, effort and shipping. If you are ordering several items, its ok to ask about bundle discounts, but not every seller offers these.
  • DO leave reviews for each sale from a seller, as this helps the seller know that you liked their products and allows the seller to come and leave you a positive review also.
  • DON’T send unsolicited images to sellers unless it is previously and explicitly agreed upon. This could lead to your account being reported and lead to you being suspended. ATW is a safe platform for buying and selling, not a dating site.
  • DO ask questions about the products you’re interested in. Sellers are more than happy to help answer your questions and give you peace of mind for what you are wanting.
  • DON’T be a time-waster. You don’t want people wasting your time, so don’t be wasting a seller’s time pretending to want an item you never have any intention of purchasing. This is a sure-fire way to get your account reported or given very low ratings. Remember that sellers do communicate with one another about bad buyers.
  • DON’T ghost a seller if you aren’t interested in an item anymore. You are more likely to be left a negative review that way. If you are no longer interested, simply explain to the seller that you have changed your mind or seen something else that has caught your eye. Honesty is the best policy.
  • DON’T postpone on paying for your order. No one likes to be left waiting to be paid. If you are not ready to pay, then don’t request an item until you can pay right away. Most sellers have a 24-hour pay policy, and asking them to wait for a few days or a week is very rude and makes you look like a time-waster. If you genuinely have to wait a few days to pay, offer to pay half the cost as a deposit, it shows you are interested and a genuine buyer, and guarantees your purchase.
  • DON’T ask sellers to verify themselves to you. Sellers verify themselves to the Admin Team, so they don’t need to provide extra verification to you. If you have any concerns, you can filter sellers by “verified”. This will bring up all of the sellers that have sent verification requests to ATW and have been approved.

Sellers

  • DO get yourself verified as soon as possible, this offers buyers reassurance that you are genuine and will help you get your first sale. Also, put up a creative bio and profile picture to catch the eyes of buyers and other users. (check out 10 Tips on How To Create An Enticing Listing for more guidance).
  • DO interact with the rest of the community. Comment on posts, like pictures, and say hello to the Admin posts too.
  • DON’T harass buyers by swamping them with messages. Too many buyers have their inboxes flooded with sellers bombarding them with sales pitches. Let them come to you. Trust me.
  • DO post up items that you are selling as regularly as you are comfortable with. It lets us all see what exciting things you have on offer.
  • DON’T feel guilty about turning down a custom request or order. You are the one in control of your own store, and you choose your own comfort level.
  • DO feel comfortable reaching out for any advice or tips. Most sellers are more than happy to assist with any questions.
  • DON’T keep posting up that you haven’t made a sale yet. It can come across as desperate and whiney. Most are lucky to make a sale in the first few days, but trust me it will happen for you when the time is right.
  • DO remember to give your buyers a review once you have completed a sale to help with their rating and encourage them to return as a repeat customer. Gently remind your buyer, if they haven’t already done so, to leave you a rating if they liked your service.
  • DO remember to have fun, and don’t be afraid to reach out to the Admin Team to report a user or you feel unsafe.
  • DON’T give out any personal information, and try and stay on the website as much as possible for communication. It keeps you safe and allows the Admin Team to intervene if you need to report anything. (Read How to Stay Safe When Selling & Buying Used Items Online)
  • DO only use safe payment methods such as Paypal.me links (ill be making a guide on how to create one soon), Cashapp and Venmo. Never give out bank details, and never meet up in person with a buyer.
  • DON’T copy other sellers bios or listings. It is extremely unprofessional and highly rude. Sellers take a lot of time and effort coming up with creative and imaginative selling techniques and items, and it’s frustrating to see sellers steal them. This causes sellers to put profiles on private or less likely to assist you or interact with you if you copy items and posts. Be creative, or ask permission to sell similar.
  • DO have fun with your listings. We have trending lists for what is popular, which can give inspiration for what to sell, and also just ask around what people would like to see. Perhaps you come up with the next hottest trending item that everyone wants.
  • DO report any accounts you suspect of being underage. Sellers and buyers must be over 18 to be on here for everyone’s safety.

If you have any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to message either myself or the Admin Team. I hope everyone can stay safe, practise safe kink and fetish, and have a good time on this website. Happy buying/selling.
