Selling Without Guilt: You’re Allowed to Charge What You’re Worth

Seller Selling Without Guilt: You’re Allowed to Charge What You’re Worth

One of the most common struggles I see among sellers, especially when starting out, is guilt around pricing.

Guilt for charging “too much.”

Guilt for saying no to discounts.

Guilt for not matching the cheapest option on the platform.

Here is the truth that took me time to learn. Charging fairly is not greedy. It is necessary.

Many sellers enter this space feeling grateful just to have interest. That can quickly turn into underpricing, over-delivering, and feeling uncomfortable asking to be paid properly for time, effort, and emotional labour.

There is also a quiet pressure to compete on price. Cheaper listings often do not reflect the full reality of what goes into an order.

What are you actually charging for?

When someone purchases from you, they are not just paying for an item. They are paying for:

  • Your time & availability
  • Preparation & wear
  • Emotional energy & communication
  • Discretion & privacy
  • Packaging, postage & materials
  • Experience, reliability & trust

None of that is free. None of it should be treated as such.

Cheap prices do not always attract the right buyers.

Lowering prices often brings in buyers who:

  • Push boundaries
  • Expect more for less
  • Disrespect your time
  • Treat your work as disposable

Confident pricing tends to attract buyers who:

  • Value your boundaries
  • Respect your effort
  • Communicate clearly
  • Become repeat customers

You are not losing sales by charging properly. You are filtering for better ones.

There is also an important difference between being accessible and being available to everyone. Trying to appeal to every buyer often leads to resentment, exhaustion, and loss of enjoyment.

Pricing is one of the clearest ways to define who your work is for. When your prices reflect intention, effort, and respect for your own limits, the entire dynamic shifts.

You begin attracting buyers who understand value rather than those looking for the cheapest option.

You are allowed to change your prices.

Pricing is not a permanent decision. As you gain experience, confidence, and regular buyers, it is normal and healthy to adjust your rates.

Raising prices does not mean you are abandoning your audience. It means recognising growth.

Saying no does not make you difficult.

You do not owe explanations for:

  • Declining discounts
  • Turning down requests
  • Protecting your energy

Clear boundaries make you professional, not rude.

A final note for sellers who are still unsure

If you are reading this and still feeling hesitant, that is okay. Confidence does not arrive all at once. It builds through experience, small decisions, and learning to trust yourself.

Every seller finds their rhythm in their own time. Your pricing, boundaries, and approach do not need to look like anyone else’s to be valid. What matters is that it feels sustainable as well as respectful to you.

The right buyers will understand your value without needing it justified. They will appreciate the care, effort, and intention you bring. They will return because of it.

Selling without guilt is not about being rigid or unkind. It is about recognising that your time, energy, and presence have worth. Allow yourself to honour that.

Once you do, the entire experience becomes lighter, healthier, and far more rewarding 🫶🏻

LeeTheBoneRanger @NE14_ABJ oh I totally got that, it was more to reiterate to seller's to price accordingly regardless of other's and choices available ( as your last point about barber did )👍

NE14_ABJ @LeeTheBoneRanger totally get your pov, but I was thinking of this from the sell side. If I was a seller Id love to charge top dollar for everything, obviously. But there’ll always be some seller undercutting or with offers as a new seller, or special deals. It is very personal, I use the same barber for 15 years even though it means I have a 30 minute drive each way to see him and he’s not the cheapest. I could go to £8 bossman Turkish, but I’m not 😂 💈

LeeTheBoneRanger @NE14_ABJ pretty much any other field / industry I'd absolutely agree with you but I'm embarrassed to call this a field / industry as what we have available is beyond ridiculously intimate! Doesn't make anything easier to afford as a buyer and I can acknowledge that but I can either afford something at any given time or I can't but would always respect sensible prices and would rather try to top up a desperate price or wait til I can afford it than jump on supply and demand offer

NE14_ABJ Would be very interested to hear how your thoughts (which I don’t disagree with btw) incorporate things like supply and demand in pricing. Supply (sellers) is huge and increasing here, and demand (buyers) appear to be decreasing. Like it or not this will always lead to downward price pressure

Adriana123 This….❤️

Littlething I guess everyone has their own interpretation on prices? One thing about this scene is it has created alot of greed from salers also. I definitely definitely get your point. After 10/12 years doing online stuff its changed so much. Its saturated with hassle from both sides Your correct about selling without guilt. Both parties have a choice to play and pay . I don't bother to much anymore because sum prices are so ridiculous like for video calls. But that's my choice. I just skip the profiles and try and find something/someone that suits us both.

SummerD7 Love this! ❤️

Wetfabrics Too true! Great read. Thank you ❤️❤️

Kissthis This was such a thoughtful, grounding read. Thank you for sharing it so honestly. The way you articulated the discomfort around pricing and boundaries really resonated with me. I’ve pulled back a bit on ATW lately and have been saying no or blocking more, and I’ll admit it’s brought up some guilt and that little voice telling me I’m being “bitchy.” Reading this was a needed reminder that I’m actually respecting my own boundaries and making space for buyers who are a better fit. That mutual balance, that symbiosis, matters. I’m really glad you put this into words.

Stayyyysh What a great read and thank you for taking the time to remind us sellers of our value. Doing what we do isn’t as “easy” as a lot of people think. 🖤

LeeTheBoneRanger Awesome skills! Outside of this world, everyone just gets on with paying going rates for everything but never understand how entitlement comes out in wanting to haggle in a place like this site! It's imperative to remember what likes of yourself offer to people that is so rare and an exotic escape from crap of real world so guilt should never ever be factor when setting prices, and this is great reminder of that so nice one, respect! Xx

MILF_Tasha Love this! 👏🏻

Thislilpiggy84 Needed to hear that! The pressure to get it going affected my pricing for sure. It helps to know that others feel/felt the same way and I can let go of that notion. Thank you for sharing.

Rubylovexxxx This was an amazing read, after sometime here you do forget what it’s like as a new seller, as you get to a stage where they either buy or don't at the price you set, but new sellers, when you’re building up your business can feel guilt not accepting suggested discounts when they really don’t have to do anything they don’t want to do. I really loved it ❤️

Janexd31 amazing job! i wish we could talk abt this more as sellers it’s so important 💜😁

SquirtingBabe Beautifully written. Giving value to our work naturally attracts clients who respect what we do and who often become loyal over time. Your words really resonated with me — you shared excellent advice. I feel the same way: I’d much rather say no than say yes and end up feeling resentful. Thank you for this reminde

MyDirtyFetish Seeing a blog on what I constantly tell sellers is great 🥰 Value and worth are two things sellers need to know! Great read lovely 🥰

Curvymilfqueen1 I love this guuurrrlll you hit the nail on the head 🥰🫶🏼 xx

MissSweetNightmare Great blog. I agree. It makes me sad when sellers offer stuff so cheap or for free. We are selling something of ourselves with each item and custom and sometimes the buyers have no idea how much work we put in to make it perfect 💖

BaileyBliss 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

QueenCurves Yes mate!! This is soo fucking good ❤️ xxx

PrincessPandora Yes girl 👏 all buyers need to read this

Mistress_Violet Brilliant thank you for this ❤️ even after all these years i still question my worth and prices all the time

Brownie69 Such a good read and a polite reminder that us sellers are worth every damn £$€ 💋

Miss_Belle Perfect blog 👌🏼 When I first set my account up I just wanted reviews and wasn’t charging enough…another seller commented ‘don’t undersell yourself babe’ and she was 💯% right. Never lower your standards for a quick sale 😘 xxx

LadyEm76x Thank you for this. It’s so important as a seller to know your worth, set boundaries and learn to say no when you’re not comfortable. Not all buyers like being told NO ( I received a retaliation negative review for saying No ) and most will actually respect your decision. 💋

MissCharlotte Brilliant blog!

Missjadeex LOVE this blog. A very good read 🩷

Dinkydi Wow. Powerful but fair in description. Lets hope we all learn to appreciate eachother, whether buyers or sellers. I love getting inspiration and support from you lovely ladies since joining recently. I've learned so much, just reading this. Bless you. X

Joelle_xx Fab blog - smashed it ♥️♥️

Brainyboo I felt exactly as you described when I came here, and it was thanks to a buyer who said my prices were low that I overcame myself and raised them, and I don’t regret it 😊 And I'll raise them again if I deem it necessary . Thanks for the blog. Excellent👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

CherryCrush Omg slayyy would have love to know this was gonna be published 🤭🤣 appreciate the love regardless 🥰

Princessxg Looooove this

MadamKarma YES! Thank you! I wish more ladies knew their value.

HeWolf72 *Fantastic* blog! You perfectly described what we are actually paying for and, consequently, why decent Buyers will happily pay the asking price without any haggling.

GoddessZakira This was exactly the reminder I needed. Great blog Gorg! 💖💋

CurvyQueen1 Smashed it babe ❤️

PersephonesPeach Already love it just from the title!😘

BBW_Bambi Yesssss queen, love the bit about “being accessible” versus “being available”.
