I think people imagine sellers spend all day lounging around in lingerie, taking a few pictures and then putting their feet up.
I hate to ruin the fantasy...
My reality looked more like this:
☕ Go to work.
🏠 Come home.
🧺 Housework.
🍽️ Feed everyone.
🙃 Wonder if I'd actually sat down all day.
📹 Wait for everyone to finally disappear so I could film customs.
😴 Go to bed ridiculously late.
⏰ Wake up questioning every life choice I'd ever made.
Repeat that five days a week and you've basically summed up my first year pretty damn well.
There were weeks where I honestly felt like my life was just eat, little sleep, film, repeat.
Then there was the pressure I put on myself.
When I first started I had convinced myself I needed to do absolutely everything if I wanted people to notice me, To be in the top % and if i wasn't I'd get annoyed. If someone else was doing it I thought I should probably be doing it to even if I wasn't really comfortable doing it🤦♀️
🚨Spoiler alert...🚨
That isn't how it works.
All I actually managed to do was stress myself out trying to be someone I wasn't, and with that I lost who I really was😢 These days I've finally realised something that probably should've been obvious from the start...
People follow me because they like me. Not because I say yes to everything. Not because I'm trying to compete with every other seller. Just me.
So now I make content I actually enjoy making. If I can't film until the weekend... so be it. If I need an early night instead of another custom, I'm taking the early night (my eyebags thank me for it🤣).
I've stopped chasing what everyone else is doing and started enjoying what I'm doing.
Turns out protecting your peace is actually good for business and good for yourself 💜
So what I'm trying to say is don't push yourself over the limit because you're just draining yourself and making things become less enjoyable. Keep being you 🫶
